Oded Distel is the founder and director of “Israel NewTech” – The Israeli National Energy & Water Program at the Ministry of Economy & Industry. The program is leading the Israeli water and energy eco-system, since 2007. “Israel NewTech” brings all stakeholders – Start-ups, entrepreneurs, companies, multinationals, academia, regulators, policy makers and investors to cooperate and work together in order to deliver smart solutions to global challenges in the CleanTech arena.
Oded plays a pivotal role leading the program, and he is very much recognize with the global branding of the Israeli water and energy industries. In 2015, Oded was selected one of the one hundred most influential people in the Israeli Hi-Tech, by the prestigious “Geek Time” website.
Prior to his current positions, Oded was the Israeli Commercial Attaché in Greece where he formed and implemented Israel’s foreign business policy as well as assisted Israeli companies in developing their business in the Greek market. One of his major achievements was the initiation of contracts and business cooperation totaling over 200 million Euros for Israeli companies around the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Oded holds a B.A in business administration and an MBA, both from the School of Business Administration at Tel Aviv.
